Indira Nagar is a residential locality in East Bangalore, 4 kilometers from the city’s hotspot, MG Road. It was formed as a BDA layout in the early 1980s and shares boundaries with Vimanapura on the east, Ulsoor on the west, Byappanahalli on the north and Domlur on the south. In the late 1990s, the IT boom in Bangalore converted Indira Nagar into a semi-commercial area.
