Acharapakkam is a town in the Kancheepuram District of Tamil Nadu. It is 96 kilometres southwest of Chennai and comes under the Metropolitan Area limits. It is strategically located along the Chennai-Tiruchi National Highway NH-45 or GST (Grand Trunk Road) Road. This area is surrounded by Taluk towards the north, Chithamur Taluk towards the east, Olakkur Taluk towards the west and Lathur Taluk towards the south.
Urapakkam, Chengalpattu, Maraimalai Nagar, Pallavaram and Manapakkam are located close to Acharapakkam. This locality is famous for its ancient Shiva temple (Arulmigu Aatcheeswarar Temple) which is one of the Devaram temples located here.
