Taleigao is a town situated towards the north of Goa. It is a part of Illhas de Goa. The Arabian Sea borders it to the west while rice fields are to its east. Dona Paula-Vaiguinim-Odxel is located towards the south of the area while Bhatlem and Santa Inez are situated towards the north.
The capital city of Goa, Panjim, is only 5 kilometres from here. Taleigao was once called the granary of north Goa since the Portuguese times, because large agricultural tracts were available here for cultivation.
The area was surrounded by neighbourhoods such as Pilerne, Dabolim, Chimbel, Caranzalem, Candolim, Porvorim, Tiswadi and Penha de Franca. The Goa International Airport in Dabolim is located 26.5 kilometres from here along the Edapally Panvel Highway. The Madgaon Railway Station is 37.5 kilometres away via the same route.
